September 24, 2006 Perfection!!!!! Jamaica-
This Jamaican princess showed a lot of class, intelligence, warmth and humility all at the same time. She blew away everybody with her charm and charisma. If she keeps this up, she will be guaranteed a slot in the finals Warm and graceful are the words that come to mind when I watch this vote- for- me. I would definitely vote for you! The 2nd best in the Caribbean.

Both these interviews had no obvious flaws and were very good. Nevertheless, they lack the vibrancy that the first two had and so I rank them a joint third place.
Very Good Both these segments were appealing and had a lot of charm. These girls, although not favourites, have succeeded in producing a good vote-for-me segment.
Good This vote-for-me video was good. Barbados had good speech and a positive personality. However, her interview had some rough edges as she gave off an “urban” vibe some of the time that is not appropriate.
Fair Dominican Republic spoke way too fast and lacked the warmth needed to really” sell” herself to the public. Nevertheless, she is beautiful and you can bet Dominicans will be supporting this girl. This segment was not bad considering it was done in English her second language. However, her lack of confidence came through and did not make it a memorable piece. Very cute and adorable. I like her but Aruba seems unsure of herself and the camera picks that up for the world to see.
Below the mark Very disappointing performance from a beautiful front-runner in the Caribbean. Bahamas said intelligent things but she did not keep eye contact with the camera and was a little “over the top” with her antics. |
I agree entirely with your comments. Jamaica showed much class & intelligence on this video. She has represented the entire Caribbean very well. Her styling & image has been a bit inconsistent but I feel she will bring it on this week, I heard much of her problems was due to lost luggage on arrival in Poland, so she ended up wearing borrowed outfits. My biggest disappointment in the U Decide, was with Bahamas, who clearly need some speech lessons & how to interact with the media.
As someone who knows Deandrea, I too was disappointed in her U Decide video, so I contacted her in Poland to find out what went wrong, specifically why she seemed to be shouting and why she looked away from the camera so much. According to Deandrea, she was instructed by the director of the video to speak loudly, and to look at him (not the camera) during the taping. (I did notice that another delegate NEVER looked into the camera, so maybe she received the same instruction.) She says she thought it was strange, but being the person that she is, she followed his instructions. She came across just as it was described here “over the top”, despite saying intelligent things. This is unfortunate because her performance contradicts the extensive training that she received in dealing with the media. I just hope that it does not do so much damage that it totally eliminates any chance she may have of advancing. She is still a beautiful, intelligent girl, despite her U Decide performance.
I must say I had an enjoyable time at the Miss World pageant and I wish to apologize for my rub off pose i am very embarrassed and I would appreciate it if ytou would move that comment on the site thank you.
I don’t like Grenda’s choice for Miss World. She’s not a true representaion of a Grenadian woman
