Mito’s views on Miss World Contestants so far

Caribbean
Martinique, by far is the most beautiful contestant in the Caribbean. It will be shocking if such a stellar beauty is left out of the finals. Miss Puerto Rico’s modelling skills and “Julia Roberts looks” should get her into the finals easily this year. Puerto Ricans should be voting for this girl
Miss Bahamas is very polished and sophisticated it would be no surprise to see her in the finals. Dominican Republic is reminiscent of last years Miss Mexico who placed second in this competition last year. It would not surprise us if she picks up a few fans on this account.
Africa
Miss South Africa is the “Diva” in this region. Known as very well dressed and stylish, she would be an easy choice for this region. Angola is simply divine looking and is the most highly anticipated African delegate because of the controversy surrounding her eligibility to participate in the Miss Universe pageant this year. She also cracked top five in beach beauty so we expect much from this delegate. Ethiopia has a classic beauty that is hard to deny and if she puts her communication skills to use should be in the running to be a finalist. Tanzania has a very innocent quality that makes her very attractive and a frontrunner in the Africa region.
Americas
Ecuador is probably the most popular contestant on pageant boards and could take the crown quite easily with her “Karolina Kurkova” face Bolivia is heavenly. She is a great catwalk model and she simply adorable to look at. Venezuela has amazing presence and a flawless body. Taking into consideration that Venezuela is very hungry for another major international crown, I would say she is fierce competition. Mexico looks like Elizabeth Hurley (international model and actress) hopefully she can use this to her advantage.
Southern Europe
Turkey is very sexy and caught my eye from the first time that I saw her. Bulgaria is very “supermodel” looking and I would love to see her advance. Israel is beautiful and I love her “Kylie Minogue” smile. Lebanon is a hot favourite currently and many individuals including us want to see her do very well.
Northern Europe
Miss Ukraine is the standout in this group. We have loved her from day one! Miss Czech Republic is simply stunning from head to toe. Miss Scotland is one of my surprise favourites she reminds me of Xena warrior princess and Catherine Zeta Jones all rolled into one!
Estonia has a very different look. I love the ultra blonde look on her. Sweden and Poland are also creeping closer to my favourites list.
Asia
India is beautiful, well trained and has an hourglass figure. We expect her to excel in this region. Philippines is a hot contender for the crown this year and after last years result, I think it is time Philippines surfaces to the top of the pack. Japan is super edgy and amazing she is one of the strongest Japanese delegates to Miss World in recent years you can’t help but notice her. Singapore is absolutely gorgeous. I love her looks and hope to see her more of her.
Allow me to comment on your Selections. I strongly feel Miss World 2006 will be from a minority race this year, its overdue, a black, or asian girl to be crowned. MW also (badly) need the added publicity. Miss WOrld has evolved into a very modern & relevant pageant, its not all about the looks anymore, neither will those who are photogenic alone get far. Miss WORLD is a very modern beauty, one who encompasses maturity, intelligence & purpose, one who is consistent,non pretentious & very visible during the 4 wks leading up to the finals. Its no surprise that the current MW is also the host of the Vote FOr Me TV Feature. SHe also speaks at Press Conferences. Miss World 2006 must represent the core values of MW org & can stand on par (comfortably) with Julia Morley, Chairman of MW Org. The Beach Beauty Mini Contest is the most telling of all the mini contests. Miss WOrld 2006 WILL be selected from the 25 girls named, she must look good physically in natural light. Having said all this, I agree with your commentary for all the regions except the Caribbean.
You’ve noticeably ignored Jamaica & Barbados. The 3 Caribbean girls included in Beach Beauty are the girls in my opinion who are in the runnings for a semi finalist spot-Barbados, Puerto Rico & Jamaica, these girls will compete for the top 2 positions. Weve hardly seen Martinique or Bahamas in the first 2 weeks of the contest & neither placed in Beach Beauty. Jamaica is studying to be a Doctor, having just completed Pre Med on a scholarship in USA. Barbados hopes to be an Attorney. Martinique is barely 17 with almost no substance in her bio.
In summary, here are my choices which will be added to FAST TRACK WINNERS:
Asia- INDIA, PHILLIPINES
Africa-ANGOLA, SOUTH AFRICA
Caribbean- JAMAICA, BARBADOS
Southern Europe-LEBANON, BULGARIA
Northern Europe-POLAND, CZECH
Americas-PANAMA, BOLIVIA
I will add one last comment. After the first 2 wks, the physical beauty actually becomes a bit boring, so many beautiful faces, diverse backgrounds are represented in Miss WOrld, its hard to say, this one is better, or prettier. Eventually, People will want to know more, & will be drawn to depth & substance, personality & intelligence & more so aura, & charisma. This is where I feel some girls will have the edge. I also believe after 2 wks, a lot of girls will find it very hard to ‘keep up’, to look beautiful everyday & so, the more natural & consistent girls tend to emerge & do very well. Just something extra to think about…
My top pick for Asia is Singapore.
She is absolutely stunning and even made top five for the beach finals.
Hope she gets the crown.
I think Miss Puerto Rivco is spectacular, i hope she be able to be Queem of the Caribbean.
Well, as you can see, youe were wrong and Paul Tavares was right as Jamaica did win for the caribbean, and hence placed in the top 5.
